A/N: The tittle of this post makes me laugh. Also, this post is half as long as it was supposed to be... I´m still deciding some things on the other part and it felt better to end this one where it ends even if it´s shorter

“We should go for dinner, Josh” Aaron
interrupted the silence. Josh glanced at Nichole next to him. “What do you
think, sis, I mean Nic” Aaron smirked
“Well, bro –Nichole rolled her eyes- shouldn´t
you think of mommy and daddy?” Nichole shook her head and Aaron laughed
“Mom´s working tonight, emergency at the
hospital and dad´s not coming back until Monday…”
“Ah, yeah –Josh started- mom asked me to
apologize to you, she wanted to be there to welcome you”
“Don´t worry, it´s ok, she was kind enough to
invite me” she half-smiled
“You know what, sis? We´ll have the house for
us tonight, so yeah, let´s forget about the dinner out”
“Dinner somewhere nice, Josh” She said and the
boys chuckled
On their way, it started to rain. Aaron from
the back seat saw the gloved hand of Nichole subtly going to touch his twin´s
hand that was resting on the handbrake. He turned over his hand and laced his
fingers with hers giving it a light squeeze and quickly glancing her with a
smile on his face, like saying “I´m ok.” A small smile crept on Aaron´s mouth.
She was worrying about his twin. He looked at Josh´s face through the rear
mirror and his twin looked back.
“So she knows?” Aaron´s eyes questioned and the
corner of Josh´s mouth went up. Nichole and Josh´s hands stayed intertwined for
a while until Josh had to shift gears.
They went to a café, it looked like a garden,
and there was a fountain like a small waterfall and greenery around. The smell
of cinnamon, coffee and cocoa filled place making it feel warm and cozy.
“What do you think?” Josh had opened the door
for Nichole “The desserts are really good in here”
“It looks nice” she smiled a little
“Are we here to have dessert for dinner?” Aaron
sat down across from Nichole
“Nic likes sweet things” Josh sat next to the
girl
“Really?”
“Is that so surprising?” she picked the menu
“Well, you don´t seem the kind…”
“What kind do I seem like?” she tilted her head
to a side
“Well… you know… you look like the salad and
diet coke type” he said with eyebrows slightly furrowed, she stared at him and
then started laughing
“Why are you…”
“Are you ready to order?” a brunette
interrupted Aaron. Both boys looked at Nichole
“I´d like the chicken crepe and green tea, and
he´d like –she motioned to Aaron- a salad and diet coke” The boy´s eyes widened
and his twin laughed quietly, she was grinning with the side of her mouth
“What can I get for you?” the brunette asked
Josh, a little frown in her face
“The same as she”
“Coming right up” she was about to leave
“I´m not done, I´ll have the club sandwich with
my salad” Aaron narrowed his eyes at Nichole
“You´re into sweets… how do you…?” Aaron made a
sand clock shape with one of his hands
“Liposuction”
“Not even funny”
“Could´ve said the same thing to you” she
retorted, the brunette brought their drinks
Aaron raised his eyebrows with enquiry when her
eyes stared at him. “What is it?”
“The lollipops” she glanced to her side
“Liked them?” Josh said after nodding twice
“Ate them already”
“Really?”
“I shared”
“Let me in the secret” Aaron rolled his eyes
and once again he was interrupted by the brunette, this time bringing their
food
“What´ve you been up to?” Aaron tried for
conversation again
“Exercising… you know, for all the sweets that
I eat” she winked
“I really thought you were not coming” he said
“I thought so too”
Josh parked the car in the garage. It had
access to the main house. The boys carried Nichole´s bags to the guest room on
the second floor. On that floor there were pictures of the family and of the
twin´s as babies, together and on their own. The room they gave the girl looked
cozy. It had a big window on a side.
“Hey! Wil, Bob and Helen ask if we want to hang
out with them tonight” Aaron glanced from his phone to Josh and Nichole
“They are our cousins” Josh explained “They live close by”
“Mh… I…I feel a little tired but I can stay
here, you guys go…” she smiled
“I´m staying with you” Josh said, Aaron
grumbled
“I´m not going to be the jerk that leaves his
guest alone” he typed something on his phone “We´ll watch a movie or something”
he went out the room and down the stairs. Josh smiled.
“Movie?” he said. Nichole nodded
~~~
“Hey, our cousins decided to come…” Josh
stopped frozen in place. Nichole was standing right across from him. His mouth
opened but no words coming out of his mouth. Nichole furrowed her eyebrows and
looked at herself. She had taken off her shirt, she was only wearing a blue top
with thin straps, it showed a little skin on her stomach. She lifted her
eyebrows.
“What happened to you?” Josh found his voice;
she followed his gaze to her shoulder and saw the purple bruise on her shoulder
and the marks of hands on her arm.
“Close the door” she opened the suitcase in a
fluent motion and took out a white knitted sweater, she put it on and then tied
her hair in a loose pony tail. “You were saying about your cousins…?” she
smiled knowing Josh was the only one so far able to distinguish her real and
fake smile
“What happened to you?” he walked closer, she
sighed
“A few bruises, it´ll be ok in a few days” she
said and his eyes seem to say “that was not my question”
“Nichole…”
“Your cousins…?”
“They won´t miss us much. Did someone hit you?”
“You won´t let it go, right?” she sighed again.
He shook his head. She looked up to the ceiling. “I got into a fight but I´m
fine, Nat already took a look at the bruises, no real damage, he got the worse
part of that”
“He?” his eyes went from wide and surprised to
narrowed and angry, concern layered somewhere in them as well
“Ah, yeah, he got it worse”
“Who is he? And why would he hit you?”
“He was …responsible of my training, we had a
disagreement”
“Who is this guy? And how can he get away with
hitting you?” anger dripping off the boys words, the side of her mouth went up
“Don´t worry, he didn´t really get away with
it”
“Why did he do it? Did you report it?”
“Josh… your cousins…”
“He could´ve hurt you bad” he took her hands in
his “why didn´t you run from him, you´re fast”
“I… I was sort of helping someone”
“Who?”
“A girl I met there”
“Nic” his eyes softened, melted emeralds. He
softly hugged her. “Why were you even there?”
“Josh, what about your other guests?”
“Don´t want to talk about it?”
“Later, I might tell you later” she closed her
eyes
“Ok. Wil, Bob and Helen should be downstairs by
now. They wanted to meet you, I guess…”he said, she sighed “They’re good people” he said, she smiled “As bad as to give a fake
smile?” he raised his eyebrows
“Maybe” she smiled again, a real smile
Awww I love this one. It was so how do you say...? Precious and warmhearted.
ReplyDeleteI love love loved Aaron seeing them hold hands but choosing to be a good brother and wonder about Josh and the rain instead of teasing them. That was just very meaning to me and reminded me of when he told Nic about his perspective of the almost drowning incident. That was one of my favorites too
Nic ordering for Aaron was so hilarious. I cracked up at everyone's reactions and even the waitress' reaction was funny. She was these brats LOLOLOL
Josh is very headstrong when it comes to asking questions. He just won't relent and that is what I love about him. He wants answers and he won't stand for lies. But at least he knows which answers to accept and which ones to keep pressing for a response.
Nic was like oh man these twins and their always trying o make me hang out with people! Hahaha but she's nice to do it though and polite because it is their house.
Oh and how cute was she when she kept saying "what about your cousins?" It was adorable that she was using such a weak argument to defer his questioning! Awww ahaha I wanted to hug her too!!!
Next part! Next part! Next part!!
